The brothers Michael and David founded a winery on land left to them by their father in 1984. Making bold, classically correct wines with even bolder labels, we love the range of cheerful, well-made wines with enormous flavour.
Rapture represents the very best Cabernet Sauvignon by Michael David Winery. Similar to 1st growth Bordeaux, Rapture is only produced on exceptional vintage years. The grapes for this wine come from Michael Phillips' own vineyard, which is rotary fermented and aged in 100% French oak barrels. Meanwhile, David Phillips gave this wine its creative identity by using the biblical name Rapture.
The 2020 Rapture presents tempting layers of baked blackberry cobbler, coffee bean, nutmeg and clove on the nose. Full bodied on the palate, complex flavors of ripe summer berries, Mission fig, dark chocolate truffle and cedar are carried through by a pleasantly, long finish that will have you reaching for another sip.
