Description

Carte Blanche is a new find for us, and we have been mightily impressed. The proprietor is Nicholas Allen, whose family own Ch. Haut-Brion – he’s decided to make his own side-project. First laid out by Luc Morlet and then carried on by Helen Keplinger, the winemaking is top-notch and the sourcing absolutely amazing. We were seriously impressed by all the wines we tried.

“A beautiful nose of gorgeous black and red cherry, black tea, cedar forest, white flowers, and spice. Supple and flavorful on the palate with black licorice, black cherry, spice box, suede underpinned by a velvety texture and lengthy finish. Drinking very well now and built to age.”

Waiting for some critical reviews – but the previous vintages scored 93, 95, 93, 95+ from Jeb Dunnock. I personally think outside of Peter Michael and Morlet, this is the strongest Pinot in our lineup.
