This intense but delicate single-vineyard Pinot Noir from the estate vineyard at the winery is named in honor of the mothers of the founders of Joe Anderson and Mary Dewane. The grapes are harvested at night and the fruit is rigorously hand sorted prior to partial destemming. Due to fantastic fruit and stem maturity, 25% of the berries were whole cluster fermented. Deep ruby in color the vibrant raspberry, Bing cherry and sarsaparilla aromas almost leap from the glass. On the palate the wine’s juicy mouthfeel is supported by cherry and blackberry flavors, building through the mid-palate to the fine grain tannins on the finish. An intriguing blend of power and restraint, this Pinot Noir is both savory and delicately sweet.
