The grapes for this wine come from the LookOut Mountain Ranch, which sits at the junction of Alexander Valley, Knights Valley and Chalk Hill AVAs. This spectacular ranch boasts 360‐degree views, soaring in elevation from 500 to 1,400 feet and low‐yielding vines in deep, red, soils. After hand‐harvesting, the wine is fermented in stainless steel before being moved to barrels for malolactic fermentation and a total of 21 months of ageing, allowing for the perfect balance of fruit, tannin and oak. This full‐bodied wine entices with captivating aromas of cedar, cardamom, blackcurrant and olive. On the palate lush, full flavours of black cherry, rich plum, vanilla and leather are layered with a solid structure of rich tannins.
