Description

This classically styled Cabernet unfolds slowly and will age gracefully. Slow fermentation followed by 22 months in 85% new French oak and a further 15 months in bottle makes for an intense, complex and elegant Cabernet Sauvignon.

Coming on the heels of the revered 2012 vintage, the 2013 vintage is a strong successor. A warm dry spring led to an early bud-break and was followed by consistent, moderate temperatures throughout the growing season, near-ideal conditions that led to lush, balanced fruit. Dark, condensed aromas of red plum, black cherry, dusty cocoa, and vanilla abound on the nose. On the palate, berry, cola, raspberry, and fig join in a tight middle core and a persistent finish. Vibrant now, this wine will develop and improve for many years to come.
