The SWK Vineyard is the coolest, most marginal vineyard farmed by Occidental. Each year it struggles to set a good crop and typically produces loose clusters with a high skin-to-juice ratio that produces phenomenally intense, savoury concentrated wines with a huge streak of minerality. Extremely gentle fermentation are used to highlight these savoury, soil-driven qualities. Captivating aromas of wild red berries, crushed flowers and fresh thyme characterise the nose. Finely-etched and precise with a strong, soil-driven character and an intriguing saline quality that accentuates the intense red berry flavours. Turns more savoury on the finish with fine-grained tannins and subtle, rising length.
