Perhaps more than any other vineyard, Sleepy Hollow has helped put Monterey and the Santa Lucia Highlands on the map as world-renowned winegrowing regions. With panoramic views of the Salinas Valley and beyond, it is perched on an expansive bench land 13 miles from Monterey Bay. The well-drained vineyard features sparse soils that reduce yields and, along with the long, cool growing season, create the character, intensity and depth of flavour for which the vineyard has become famous. This inherent quality was recognised in 2016 when Wine Enthusiast Magazine designated Sleepy Hollow as a Grand Cru in its own ranking of the best vineyards in California. This wine is Talbott’s distinctive expression of world-class Chardonnay that the Sleepy Hollow Vineyard can produce. A refined and elegant chardonnay, the nose shows jasmine, sandalwood, warm brioche and butterscotch. Classic Santa Lucia Highlands on the palate, it has lively minerality, green apples, pear and Meyer lemon flavours. A rich and vibrant wine with a finish of cinnamon and hard spice.
