Description
Specialists in Sauvignon Blanc, Honig make this wine using fruit from carefully selected blocks of their Rutherford vineyards, aiming to show the complexity the variety can achieve in this terroir. 40% of the blend is fermented in new French oak and then aged on the lees for 8 months, giving the wine a smokey complexity that acts as a beautiful counterpoint to the floral notes from the addition of 8% semillion to the blend. A fragrant & attractive nose of fresh citrus fruits, lemon verbena, lime zest and melon, leads into a medium bodied palate with overtones of honeysuckle, lemongrass and a hint of oak, with a lingering dry finish.
