The Pinot Noir for Le Moulin Rouge comes from the Pisoni Vineyard, 200 miles south of Knights Valley on the slopes of the Santa Lucia Highlands in Monterey County. First planted in 1991, the vineyard’s granite soil and coastal climate contribute a dense yet delicate richness, adding to the wine’s complexity. The clone, originally selected from Burgundy’s Grand Cru, is showcased in a concentrated perfume and distinct varietal expression. Native yeast fermentation and ageing in French oak draw out the unique characteristics of this stunning wine.
